Where to find taxis at LAX?

LAX Airport taxi pick-ups are possible in three convenient locations: Parking Structure 3, the end of Terminal 7, and LAX-it. Travelers can easily reach them from any part of the facility.

Parking Structure 3 resides between the two Terminals of the Heathrow Airport - B and 3. The lot has taxis and is fast to reach for the passengers arriving at the nearby areas, like Terminals 3 and B.

The other parking lot resides at the external zone of the baggage claim, which you can reach from the 7th and 8th Terminals.

The third location to hail taxis is LAX-it, which passengers reach on foot or use a free-of-charge shuttle bus. Waiting for the cab to arrive is possible in the Arrivals Hall, whose second title is the Lower Level. All passengers should do is head to the GREEN signs and stay there until their taxi arrives. Below, find more detailed instructions about how to reach LAX-it:

  • Exit the terminal and follow the green signs to get to the lot.
  • Use the shuttle, which runs every 3-5 minutes and is accessible at the Lower (Arrivals) Level not far from the baggage claim. Green signs will help you to find the shuttle station.
  • If there is a need, ask the staff in green vests for assistance. They are ready to help with boarding shuttles, loading luggage, and getting to your taxi.

If you hail a taxi to LAX, be aware that the drop-off areas are at the curbs of Departure (Upper) levels.

LAX Airport taxi companies

At Los Angeles Airport, people use the services of the official companies only. Their cars have authorization and a legitimate seal, which the Department of Transportation of Los Angeles issues and regulates. Vehicles with no official permission do not operate, and the ATS (Authorized Taxicab Supervision) works at the airport by controlling the taxi services. Contact them using the following number: 310-646-9177.

Taxis for disabled

Specific taxi service at LAX helps individuals with disabilities by providing accessible cabs. If you need one, contact the ATS (Authorized Taxicab Supervision) at 310-646-9177. They will dispatch a taxi to the closest location to the Central Terminal Area, where you can pick it up. The car always arrives at the curb with a dark blue sign. Taking animals by taxi is accepted and does not require extra charges.

The other option is requesting a cab as an eligible Paratransit user. At LAX, it is possible to receive a taxi from Access Services - a company that offers Paratransit assistance. Their cars have a recognizable logo, so you will not miss them. Expect the accessible cab to arrive at the inside curbs of the terminal Arrivals area.

LAX-it program

Wish to make your LAX Uber pickup easy and convenient? Nowadays, it is possible with the LAX-it (LA Exit) program, which offers the newest way to operate the transportation processes close to the airport. Travelers can choose from walking or riding a shuttle bus to get to the taxi parking lot whenever they need. Choose to go by foot, and all you need to do is follow the signs which lead to the LAX-it.

Another option is a shuttle ride, for which you do not need to pay anything. The Los Angeles Airport offers passengers a variety of buses that transfer to places where services like Lyft at LAX pick up their clients. The shuttles stop near the baggage claim on Level 1 every 7-8 minutes (the frequency of arrivals depends on the airport congestion). The buses run around the clock and are available every day, any time of the year.

The airport cares about individuals with disabilities, making every shuttle ADA-accessible. Buses divide into two types:

  • Large ones have no stairs and provide wheelchair ramps;
  • Small ones have wheelchair lifts.

To receive assistance, inform the LAX-it services about it in advance by emailing: [email protected]

Transferring within the airport will change since an enormous transformation is going on right now. LAX is constructing a multi-modal transit station, a mover train, and a brand-new parking lot for your convenience. The building of the people mover will finish approximately in 2023. Access is going to become smooth, easy, and less stressful soon.
